CRAWFORD, Jerry C. age 81 passed away Saturday June 3, 2017. He was born on December 13, 1935 in Greenville to the late Vernie and Myrle Crawford. He grew up in Darke County and graduated from New Madison High School. Jerry was retired from Otis Elevator Company. He was an active Mason. Jerry was Most Excellent Grand High Priest, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, 1993-1994. He was a past presiding officer of the Brookville Masonic Lodge #569, Trotwood Masonic Lodge #755, Palmyra Chapter #235, RAM, Silver Trowel Council # 141 RSM, Reed Commandery #6 Knights Templar of Ohio, Red Cross of Constantine, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest, Irish Council, Knight Mason, Herbert T. Leyland Council # 281, Allied Masonic Degrees, Harvest Chapter #564, OES, and Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. Jerry was a Past Commander in Chief of Dayton Consistory (1996-1998) and received the 33rd degree in 1995. He was honored with the York Rite Grand Cross of Honour in 1993. Jerry held memberships in Ohio Priory #18 KYCH, Royal Order of Scotland, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, York Rite Sovereign College, Antioch Shrine, where he was a part of the Past Masters Club and Arabic Club; Order of DeMolay Legion of Honor, and an Advisory Board Member of Fidelity Assembly, Rainbow for Girls.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Doris; children Leslie (Robert) Curtis, Michael (Tammy), Christopher (Debra); grandchildren Krista (Jared) Sabin, Stephanie (Charlie) Anderson, Alexander (Jackie) Crawford, Jakob Crawford, Melissa (Daniel) Stewart, Zachary Crawford; great grandchildren Aubrey, Alayna and Anna Crawford, Greyson Stewart, Reagan Anderson; brother James (Phyllis) and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held 7PM Friday June 9, 2017 at Dayton Masonic Center 525 W Riverview Avenue Dayton OH 45405. Officiated by Rev. Randy Clark. The family will receive visitors 4PM until time of service. Arrangements entrusted of Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home.
