Obituary

Dennis Paul Garrett left us Saturday, May 30, 2020. Dennis otherwise known as Dad, Daddio, Papaw, P-pa G (because he was the cool grandpa), Brother, Son, Friend and Husband is now with his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his wife Patty Lynn Garrett, nephew Tommy Garrett, brother James Garrett and his parents David and Zenita Garrett. He leaves behind his daughter Deana and her children Patty Lynn, Megan, Tristan, Zenita, and Leela, his son Luke and his son Austin, and his sisters Ruth Harbin and Sarah Pace and their families.
Dad loved to ride his Harley as often as possible and would do so regardless of the distance or weather conditions. It was true and unconditional love.
He was a bus driver for both private and public companies, dump truck driver, box truck driver, limousine driver and a heavy equipment operator in a gravel pit. Being outside or tinkering with things to make them better were things he also enjoyed doing.
He has lived and traveled all over the United States but always found his way back home to his family and friends in Ohio. Family and friends were very important to Dennis, he said life wouldn't be worth living without them.
P-pa G or Papaw liked to tell his grandkids that being bold and loud was better than blending in with the crowd. He could be the candy giving grandparent while still dishing out the tough love. He tried to be a positively energetic man even at the worst of times. As his oldest granddaughter would say, he wasn't always the cuddliest cactus but he was GREAT!
Although his journey has ended, his memory and adventurous spirit lives on with his loved ones
