JONES, Joy Lee age 78, of Vandalia passed away Tuesday May 28, 2019 at home surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born June 8, 1940 in Dayton to the late Grant Flaugher and wife Bettie Trissel Flaugher. She grew up watching her brother, Michael, play baseball through high school and on the American Legion Team. In 1956 she met Raymond Jones, the love of her life. She graduated from Fairview High School and then married Raymond Jones. Joy loved roller skating as a young girl, bowling with Raymond and friends, and watching her family participate several sports. She spent many years volunteering as a game statistician for the Dayton Gems, the Dayton Bombers, and the Dayton Ice Bandits. Joy loved hockey and had an extensive hockey family. She enjoyed watching both of her sons play hockey . Joytime Hockey is named in her honor. Joy was an active lifetime member of VFW Post #9582 in Vandalia for several years, and she held the office of Junior Vice President. She worked several years for a local doctor. Joy is retired from AAA after many years of service.

Along with Joy being survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years Raymond L. Jones; she is also survived her loving dog Kiwi, 2 sons Scott and his wife Missi Jones and Mike and his wife Nicole Jones; grandchildren Lisa Jones, Jim Weakley, Amie Jones, Shawn Bartley, Brittany Jones, Brody Jones, Joshua Saylor and his wife Ashley, Jamie Saylor, Miguel Berrien; great grandchildren Nathan Williams (Chelcie Berrey), Jordan Williams, Preston Williams, Kylee Clemens, Kaiden Dando-Saylor, Kinley Saylor, Makayla Berrien, Miguel Berrien; great great grandchildren Karter Williams, Dallas Williams ; her brother Michael Flaugher and his wife Deb; nephew Shawn Flaugher and his wife Jennifer; nephew and God son Joseph Flaugher and his wife Laura; great nephews and nieces Conner Flaugher, Cullen Flaugher, Ceiren Flaugher, Mila Flaugher, Fiona Flaugher, Anna Flaugher; God daughter Nikki Goad, special friends Steve and Pat Goad, Ennis and Marlene Hord; also many other loving family members and friends. She never met a stranger and was loved by all.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents Bettie and Grant Flaugher.
A Memorial Service will be held 12 noon Saturday June 8, 2019 at Baker Hazel Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. Dayton OH 45415. The family will receive friends 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held 5 PM Saturday June 8, 2019 at VFW Post #9582 4170 Old Springfield Rd Vandalia, OH 45377.
