Juanita Henderson-Moore was born in Ripley, Tennessee on February 8, 1931. Her parents father Mr. George L. Maclin and mother Mrs. Clara Patrell Maclin both deceased. Juanita attended Woods Grade School and later transferred to Durhamsville Grade School where CY Russell(her aunt) was the school principal. After graduating she went to Gailor High School in Mason, Tennessee where she finished number one in her class and received a scholarship to attend Central State College in Wilberforce, Ohio. Father M. Barlett Cochran who was the Pastor at St. Margaret Episcopal Church was teaching summer school in Mason, Tennesee and when she came to Dayton she joined St. Margaret in 1950. Later on in her career she started working at the VA Hospital and then later transferred to the Defense Electric Center. She retired from the government after completing thirty-two years of service. After she retired she decided to start a new career with The Sears & Roebuck Company as a sales associate in the men's department for six years and then retired a second time. Again, she decided to return back to the workforce and held numerous jobs for example: RTA of Dayton doing Customer Service, the Census Bureau and the Presidential Campaign for Kerry/Edwards. Also, in between her various jobs she was also a Mary Kay Consultant and a Lady Remington Fashion Advisor and she won numerous trips outside of the country. On a social level Juanita belonged to the American Business Women's Association, Amer Court#65, Daughter of Isis#102, Daughters of the Kings, and the Episcopal Church Women of St. Margaret. Juanita leaves to mourn, her cousin Shirley S. Monroe, her stepdaughter Lajuana Henderson, her best friend Sandra Scott, her Goddaughter Angelia Jones and her daughter Gracie Jones, her friends Cleveland Rivers, Vicki Sims, Carl Sims and Jose Bonner, her church family and many other associates she embraced on her life's journey.
