I am Barbara Brickley, Gertrude Dillard Sheet’s daughter and Shirley’s first cousin. My sincere sympathy to Shirley’s family. Memories take me back to Dayton when Shirley and I were young and would get together as first cousins. Our moms were sisters and we’d go to her house in Westwood from Belmont, where I lived. We’d walk down to the corner drug store and get cherry phosphates with her brother Bobby. Occasionally the big Dillard clan would all get together at Aunt Rendy’s place. There were 6 Dillard sisters and lots of cousins!!
I looked up to Shirley and her successful job at Frigidaire, where she worked many years in the Sales Dept. In fact, I also got a job with GM at Delco Moraine.
I know how much she loved her parents, husband, nephews and niece and her pet dogs. I will be making a donation in her memory to the Ohio SPCA. I live in Texas now and am sorry I’m unable to be there.
I would like to thank our first cousin, Gloria Mumma, who faithfully and regularly visited Shirley and even brought her chocolates and peanuts—what’s better than that??!!

My deepest sympathy! Shirley was my neighbor and we spent a lot of time reviewing daily events and updates on the neighborhood! She was a special lady who cared deeply about others and gave of herself as much as could’
