Obituary

- GRUNDISH, Thomas C., “Tom” age 79 of Indian Lake in Russell’s Point, OH, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born August 14, 1940 in Dayton to the late, Dayton PD Captain Richard C. (Dick) and Madeline (Paumier) Grundish. Tom was a 1958 graduate of Chaminade High School. Attended Sinclair Community College and UD. Tom worked for Smith-Corona and retired from A.O. Smith manufacturing as a Corporate Traffic Manager. He is preceded in death by sisters Karen and Barbara and a brother Mike. Survived by 2 sons Mark and Patrick Grundish and their mother Patricia Grundish, his longtime companion Debra Mattachione, 3 grandchildren: Samantha, Parker and Preston Grundish, 2 brothers John and Rick (Becky) Grundish and numerous family, nieces, nephews. Long time school mates and friends: Tom & Wilma Will, Bob “Marty” Martin, Greg & Mindy Craddick, Tim & Maryann Reese, Ronnie Holtman, Mark & Sue Obenour, Bob Fischer, Keith Powers, Dick Rozell, family of Steve and Sandy Speciale of TN, Indian Lake friends, neighbors, Dayton FOP family and longtime business associates. Tom enjoyed traveling to Florida, playing in Texas Hold’Em tournaments, poker with friends at Indian Lake Eagles and Fairborn Moose. Tom especially loved spending most of his time at Indian Lake drinking coffee with friends and family lake side on the dock. He cherished the family time he spent with his two sons, beloved grandchildren and daughter-in-law Allison during summer weekends. Many life long memories were created and will continue to be created which will never be forgotten. Family & friends were always welcome to stop in at any time. SERVICES ARE POSTPONED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED AT A LATER DATE. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Indian Lake Water Shed Project or Dayton FOP in Tom’s memory.
